~ Since our musical paths seemed to be crossing more and more often of late, we decided we might as well put something together, so we did - THE SOUL SATELLITES. We had our first show as a fill-in band on November 2, 2012 and liked it so much we booked another one, and another one... Vocalist/harmonica player Lloyd Meadows currently fronts the Zydeco Flames and has worked with Elvin Bishop, Mal Sharpe's Big Money, Tom Rigney, and Motordude Zydeco & The Treblemakers. Range, grit, chops and soul, Lloyd brings it all to the mic, every single night. ~ With roots in Chicago, Guitarist Frank Bohan brings a deep blue feeling to his parts his solos and his vocals. Frank has worked with Johnny Copeland, Alvin "Youngblood" Hart, Ricardo Scales, and Johnny Nitro, and currently holds down guitar chairs in the Zydeco Flames with Lloyd and Timm and the Treblemakers with Dave and Ted. ~ Timm Walker not only plays funky bass like a dream but sings like a bird too! Timm's credits include work with the Larry James Band, Roy Gaines, J.J. Malone, Sista Monica, Bobby Murray, and Andre Thierry. He is also a core member of The Elvin Bishop Band and currently plays with Frank and Lloyd in the Zydeco Flames and with some other very good friends of ours in Beaufunk. ~ You may know drummer Dave Burns through his work with Ffood, Westside Boogaloo, Clusterfunk, Big Gay Farmer, Stupidhead, Kortuzi or his current project Droptones. Dave has also worked with Vinyl, Korty and Friends, Jimmy Dillon, Austin Delone, The Ed Early Band and Buddy Owen. ~ Well known around Marin for his unique guitar stylings in the Treblemakers and his work with Bonnie, and on the East Coast for his work in The Vibro's, Jailbait, and El Kabong, Ted O'Connell brings a true understanding of tone and groove to the band. His rhythm parts are chunky to say the least, and his solos never fail to surprise and delight listeners as well as the band. And, he's a hoot! ~ That's us, The Soul Satellites. Happy to be here and looking forward to seeing you at a show real soon! Peace!
